- 1987: Origin as EPTC within Andhra Pradesh Pollution
Control Board (APPCB)
- 1991: Agreement with Swedish International Devolopment
Co-cperation Agency(SIDA) for bilateral assistance
- 1992: EPTRI established as a society
- Tripartite cooperation between GoI, GoAP and Swedish International Devolopment Co-cperation Agency (SIDA)
- Board of Governors with ninteen Members drawn from Government, Industry and NGOs and the Ex-Officio Chairman is the Chief Secretary to the state Government.
- Director General is the Chief Executive (Presently the Director General is Ex-officio Special Chief Secretary to Government of Andhra Pradesh, Department of Environment, Forest, Science & Technology)
