EPTRI has developed expertise in handling issues related to Municipal solid waste management (MSWM) and has been working in:
Ø Survey of solid waste generation, collection, treatment and disposal in metro cities, Class I cities and Class II towns
Ø The study includes – Fixing of boundaries, topographical survey, EIA, designing of scientific landfill and preparation of DPR for three waste energy plants.
Ø Studies on assessment of impacts from landfills for CPCB, New Delhi
Ø Engineering applications to Municipal Solid Waste (MSW) with emphasis on renewable energy recovery.
Ø Identifying sites for locating sanitary landfill for disposal of MSW by adopting site selection criteria, conducting preliminary and detailed Hydro-geological Investigations, Rapid Environment Impact Assessment (REIA)/Environment Health Impact Assessment
Ø Studies on assessment of environmental impacts of existing landfill sites
Ø Preparation of state level MSWM action plan, detailed project reports/feasibility studies on MSWM for cities and towns and Integrated Solid Waste Management Plan for Urban Agglomerations, cities and towns.
Ø Capping of existing MSW dumpsite and design and construction of new MSW landfill facility at Adibatla and Gandhamguda MSW dumpsite, Hyderabad on Turnkey basis (MCH sponsored projects)
Ø Feasibility studies for six municipalities – Municipal Administration and Urban Development department, Andhra Pradesh Pollution Control Board, (APPCB).
Ø Identification of sites for 10 sanitary landfills for Municipal Corporation of Hyderabad
Ø Surveys for Metro cities, Class I cities, Class II towns for Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), New Delhi
