  • Integrated Environmental Strategies in India"  project launched in February 2002 in Hyderabad with the assistance of USEPA and USAID

  • The study shows how to make a positive impact on air quality and public health by reducing GHG emissions

  • Policymakers and other stakeholders were provided with quantified data on the health, environmental, and economic impacts.

  • Cost-benefit analysis done, prioritizing costs of various proposed air pollution mitigation scenarios with health and GHG  cost benefits occurring from these scenarios

  • Similar studies have been performed in a few other countries including Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Mexico, South Korea, China and the Philippines
